Read the two Omni and Seedance billing rules side by side and the pattern is clear.

Kling 3.0 Omni charges per second of output. Feed it a reference video and reference images; you pay for the clip that comes back, nothing more. A 5-second edit is 5 seconds of billing.

Seedance 2, on its video-input tiers, defines billed seconds as the output duration plus the duration of the reference videos you supplied. A 5-second edit built on a 10-second reference is billed as 15 seconds.

This matters because a per-second rate and a billed-second count are two different things. Whichever model you use, what you pay is rate multiplied by billed seconds — so a rule that adds your reference clip to the second count changes the total even when the rate does not move.

The practical Omni consequence: trim your reference before uploading. On Omni it changes nothing; on a model billing this way it changes the invoice.

What Kling 3.0 Omni does, spelled out

Omni resolution. Seedance 2's price list runs 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K. Omni offers 720p in Standard and 1080p in Pro, with no 4K tier at all. If the deliverable is 4K, Kling 3.0 Omni cannot produce it — though on this platform Kling 3.0 does, at 65 credits/sec.

Omni takes up to 7 reference images, dropping to 4 when a reference video is loaded alongside them. They are what the model uses to keep a character's appearance, clothing and features consistent across generated shots — the mechanism behind recurring characters and brand mascots.

Omni has two distinct reference modes. Base preserves the source clip's movement and timing while your prompt changes appearance; Feature treats the clip as a style guide while generating new motion. Picking the wrong one wastes the generation, which is why the distinction is worth knowing before you start.

Omni generates native audio with text or image input. With a reference video it preserves the source clip's audio rather than generating new.

What we deliberately do not claim

This section exists because most Omni-versus pages fill it with confident guesses.

We have not benchmarked output quality, motion coherence, or prompt adherence between these two models. We serve one of them, so a head-to-head we ran would not be a fair test, and we have not run one anyway. Anyone publishing a clean "X beats Y on quality" verdict without showing the clips is describing a preference.

We also do not restate Seedance 2's feature list beyond what its price tiers demonstrate. The tiers prove it accepts video input at every resolution and that it prices that input a particular way. They do not tell us its reference-image limit, its duration ceiling, or its audio behaviour — so this page does not either.

Kling 3.0 Omni or Seedance 2: which to reach for

Omni when the job is reference-driven and the source clip is long relative to the output: character consistency from images, a short edit off a long take, or a brand style to hold across shots. Billing on output alone is a real advantage precisely there.

Seedance 2 when you need a resolution tier Omni does not offer — 4K in particular. Factor its reference-duration billing into the comparison rather than reading the rate alone.

Neither, if the job is narrower than both: a talking head belongs on Kling Avatar V2 at 10 credits/sec, and editing footage specifically is cheaper on Kling O1 at 30 credits/sec with a video input, against Omni's 45.
