These two are the same generation of Kling video model, so the question is never "which is better." It is whether you are feeding the model a reference — and if you are not, Omni costs more and gives up 4K to do the same job.

The rows that decide it are resolution and references. Everything else is close enough between Omni and 3.0 not to matter.

What Kling 3.0 Omni adds

Three things, and they are the only reasons to pay the Omni premium.

Omni reference images — up to 7. Feed Omni images of a character and appearance, clothing and features hold steady across generated shots. Drop to 4 images when a reference video is also loaded. Kling 3.0 has no equivalent: you describe the character in the prompt and hope.

Omni video-to-video editing. Upload a clip of 3–10 seconds and describe the change. Base mode preserves the original movement and timing while your prompt changes appearance; Feature mode uses the clip as a style guide while generating new motion. Kling 3.0 cannot take a video as input at all.

Omni character consistency. The practical version of the first point: one set of references produces a run of shots where the character stays recognisably the same person, which is what brand mascots and recurring characters need.

What Kling 3.0 keeps that Kling 3.0 Omni gives up

This is the half most Omni comparisons miss, because it is a capability the newer-sounding model does not have.

Native 4K. Kling 3.0 generates at native 4K for 65 credits/sec. Kling 3.0 Omni does not offer 4K at all — Standard is 720p and Pro is 1080p. If the deliverable is a large-screen or high-resolution edit, the choice is made for you regardless of everything else on this page.

A lower floor on price. 35 credits/sec silent against 45. On a 10-second silent clip that is 350 credits versus 450 — the same output, 100 credits apart, when no reference is involved.

Unconditional native audio. Both generate audio, but Kling 3.0 Omni only does so with text or image input. Feed Kling 3.0 Omni a reference video and it can preserve the clip's original audio, but it will not generate a new track. Kling 3.0 has no such condition.

The Kling 3.0 Omni cost difference in real numbers

Per second, Standard mode, silent: 45 credits on Omni, 35 on Kling 3.0.

  • 5-second silent clip: 225 credits on Omni, 175 on Kling 3.0.
  • 5-second clip with audio: 300 against 250.
  • 10-second silent clip: 450 against 350.
  • Kling 3.0 at native 4K: 65 credits/sec — more than Omni's silent rate, and Omni cannot match the output at any price.

At the annual-plan rate of roughly $0.008 per credit, that 5-second silent Omni clip is about $1.80 against $1.40 on Kling 3.0. Small per clip; not small across a project.

Kling 3.0 Omni or Kling 3.0: which for which job

Use Kling 3.0 when the job is prompt-to-video, when you need 4K, or when the shot has no reference material. Note it cannot take a video as input at all, so "edit this clip" is never a Kling 3.0 job.

Use Kling 3.0 Omni when you have something to feed it: reference images for a character, a brand style to match, or an existing clip to edit. Those are the cases where the extra 10 credits/sec buys something real.

Use neither for a talking head. A person speaking to camera belongs on Kling Avatar V2 at 10 credits/sec — under a quarter of Kling 3.0 Omni's silent rate. And for editing footage specifically, Kling O1 does it at 30 credits/sec with a video input, against Kling 3.0 Omni's 45.

That last point is worth sitting with: Omni is rarely the cheapest way to do any single job. It is the model that does several of them in one pass.

What neither one does

Worth knowing before you pick, because these send you to a different model entirely rather than to the other side of this comparison.

Neither animates a still portrait to match an audio file you already have — you supply a voice recording and get a talking head — because that is Kling Avatar V2's job, at a fraction of the credits. And neither adds seconds to the end of a finished video: Omni edits within the clip you hand it, Kling 3.0 cannot take a clip at all, so extending existing footage is not a job either one takes.
