If you are on a monthly Kling plan or any tier below Ultra Yearly, Kling 4.0 is not available to you on Kling's own app yet. Everyone else waits for the October rollout, and Kuaishou has not said whether free accounts get access on day one.

The gap from 3.0 to this release was about eight months — shorter than the ten months between 2.0 and 3.0. What Flash is
Flash is the faster, lower-cost version of the model, built for high-volume creation. Kling also redesigned its creation page: image, video, and audio references share one input box, with a timeline for preview and editing and a canvas workspace with an agent assistant.

The practical difference is control and length. If your work is 5–15 second social clips, Kling 3.0 already covers it. If you need one continuous 30-second shot, many reference images in a single task, or keyframed story beats, Kling 4.0 is the upgrade to wait for.

Will Kling 4.0 be free?
Kuaishou has not published pricing for free users. At launch, Flash access requires an Ultra Yearly plan — Kling's top annual tier — so there is no free path to Kling 4.0 on Kling's own app today. API pricing has not been published either, which means third-party tools cannot offer the new model yet.
